Springsteen in Tampa

Springsteen put on the most incredible show last night in Tampa, Florida. Three hours of hand-clapping, dancing, and singing. Easily the best show I’ve seen. I got a bit choked up when he did the usual E Street roll call to introduce the band, when he got to the point where he would introduce Clarence Clemmons with the traditional “Do I have to say his name?!?” Springsteen repeated the phrase over and over, while the crowd went wild, clapping a tribute to the late Big Man. Jake, Clarence’s nephew was a crowd favorite, put into the spotlight several times during the show. When they did 10th Avenue Freeze Out, the band stopped right after Springsteen sang the line, “and the Big Man joined the band,” letting the crowd clap for a couple minutes to honor Clemmons.

Springsteen popped up in the middle of the floor crowd.
